Methodology · Index construction
How an index is built.
01 — Eligible assets
What can be held.
Each index defines its eligible assets in advance. The flagship indices hold a single digital asset and cash.

- Bitcoin (BTC), Cash
- Signal Ethereum Active
- Ethereum (ETH), Cash

02 — Target exposure
Weights within limits.
03 — Weight calculation
From target to weight.
- 01Target weightThe methodology sets a target weight for the asset within its permitted range.
- 02Cash weightThe remainder of the portfolio, so that the weights always add up to 100%.
- 03Weight driftBetween rebalances, weights move with prices. Rebalancing resets them to target.
04 — Index-level calculation
A consistent formula.
The index level is calculated from the weighted returns of its components, using the same policy every time. Formula details will appear in the methodology document.

05 — Signal framework
Observations into weights.
A defined methodology evaluates market observations and maps the result to a target weight. The flagship methodologies are proprietary: we publish how the framework is structured, not the signal logic. Bitcoin and Ethereum each have their own methodology specification.
